Where Minnesota Ranks Among Best Big Ten Football Home Teams To Bet On
Fact Checked by Nate Hamilton

The last half-decade has been full of highs for the Minnesota Golden Gophers on the gridiron, with 39 wins and four bowl victories during that span.

Unsurprisingly given that on-field success rate, the P.J. Fleck-coached collective is among the best teams against the spread in the Big Ten over that stretch, ranking in a tie with Penn State for third in the Big Ten by that metric.

Utilizing TeamRankings.com, MinnesotaBets.com found each Big Ten’s football win-loss record (ML) since 2018 at their home stadium and their against-the-spread (ATS) record since 2018 at their home stadium. Information that will be helpful for anyone waging on Minnesota sportsbooks once they come to the Gopher State.

After gathering their records, the Big Ten football teams were ranked from 1 to 14 based on each category. The teams were then ranked by their average in the two categories.

Minnesota Among Big Ten’s Best ATS At Home

It’s safe to say that Minnesota’s Huntington Bank Stadium has been a nightmare for opposing teams, with the Golden Gophers holding a 21-10 moneyline and 18-12-1 ATS record at the Minneapolis facility since 2018.

Overall, the Golden Gophers ranked behind Michigan (28-4/19-12-1 ATS) and Ohio State (30-2/18-13-1) among Big Ten members, while Minnesota finished in a tie for third with the Nittany Lions, who have posted a 25-8 moneyline and 17-15-1 ATS mark at Beaver Stadium since 2018.

Minnesota finished ahead of Big Ten stalwarts like Iowa (24-8/16-15-1 ATS), Maryland (15-13/15-13 ATS) and Wisconsin (23-8/13-18 ATS) on the conference’s ATS leaderboard over the last five years.

Although there isn't currently a Minnesota BetMGM sportsbook, BetMGM nationally lists the Golden Gophers at +3000 to win the Big Ten in 2023 (ranking sixth leaguewide), with +650 odds of winning the Big Ten West division (ranking third overall).

The Golden Gophers have a win total over/under of 7 on BetMGM Sportsbook, with the over listed at +100 and the under at -120.
